Evanescence singer Amy Lee has denied she is to record a collaboration with Metallica for the heavy metal band’s forthcoming album. Lee was rumoured to have teamed up with the legendary rockers to rework their classic track Fade To Black, as well as providing vocals for their new LP which is due out later this year (2008). But the star has dismissed the reports with a posting on her website, according to Blabbermouth.net. She says, “I am NOT going to be collaborating with Metallica. I have absolutely no idea where this rumour came from, but it is not true.”

Evanescence star Amy Lee has joined the ranks of celebrities opposed to TV talent contests after slamming producers for asking the general public to turn nobodies into stars. Just days after British soul star Joss Stone slated American Idol, Lee is attacking that show and band recruitment challenge Rock Star for helping music labels cheat in getting fast hits. The Fallen singer snarls, “There’s a lot of shows out there where it’s like, ‘You pick who’s gonna be the next singer of…’ or whatever. “It’s hilarious and depressing. It honestly is the most depressing thing ever, because labels just don’t have faith in their musicians. They just don’t have faith in artists. “Nobody knows what the industry is doing right now and it’s just, like, up in the air, so it’s like, ‘Well, let’s just let the fans call in and decide…’ It’s just frustrating.”
